neurodivergent affirming art therapy, counselling and coaching
Master's qualified art therapist | Counsellor | Neurodiversity Specialist
Sensorium is a community built around helping neurodivergent people understand themselves, connect with others, and build lives that fit their brains.
It's a neurodivergent-led community where ADHD, autistic and AuDHD people can learn about their brains, connect with others who genuinely understand, and build lives that work with their nervous systems instead of constantly fighting against them.
Through neurodiversity-affirming counselling, art psychotherapy, coaching, creative groups and community events, I combine professional knowledge with lived experience to create spaces that are supportive, practical and genuinely enjoyable.
Whether we're making art together, talking through life's challenges, learning new strategies or simply sharing experiences, the goal is always the same:
To help you build a life that feels more authentic, connected and sustainable.
Founded by Rachel Taplin, Master's qualified Counsellor and Art Therapist specialising in neurodiversity-affirming practice.

I am a masters qualified art therapist and registered Clinical counsellor with 20 years of professional experience and a lifetime of lived exoerience. My approach is creative, person centered and neurodiverse affirming - always finding fun and novel ways to think outside the box to traditional therapy and healing to suit the ND brain. I’ll meet you exactly where you are at and use your strengths talents and special interests to help you find self-undestanding and acceptance and belonging - which is the key component to healing! I offer individual therapy and coaching online and outreach, as well as fun, creative and connective group sessions where you can find peer support and real belonging.

Creativity has a unique way of helping us understand ourselves, connect with others learn and heal in ways that feel more natural than straight up therapy. We are focussed on helping people find connection with other people like them in order to find true acceptance and belonging - which is the real key to healing. Understanding that commitment to therapy can sometimes feel impossible - we offer fun and low commitment options such as: drop in art jams, art education and programs, community meetups, online art sessions and body doubling where you can find support, inspirations, new information and real; connection with the people that truely get it.

The Sensorium Approach
At Sensorium, we believe every neurodivergent person deserves the opportunity to understand themselves, build practical skills, and create a life that honours who they truly are.
We don't see neurodivergence as something to be fixed. We see it as a different way of experiencing, processing and engaging with the world. Our role is to help people better understand their unique brain, recognise their strengths, navigate challenges and build the confidence to thrive.
Our approach is accessable, flexible, neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed and deeply relational. We combine counselling, creativity, sensory understanding, psychoeducation and evidence-informed practice to create support that is practical, engaging and meaningful.
Rather than relying on one therapeutic model, we draw from a range of approaches, including CBT, ACT, Internal Family Systems-informed practice, Positive Behaviour Support, motivational interviewing, creative therapies and experiential learning. Every session is tailored to the individual, recognising that no two neurodivergent people experience the world in exactly the same way.
Above all, we believe healing happens through understanding, connection and community, not correction.
